Our Underground Complex:

Faye Nayler established The Opal Cave in 1963 when she gave the first tour of Coober Pedy. She quickly realised the need for specialty tours and facilities for coach groups and began building suitable, low cost accommodation for such clients.
We now service hundreds of Coach Groups each year, as we are continually upgrading our accommodation and facilities to ensure your stop over in this unique opal mining town is a memorable and pleasant experience.
The Opal Cave is conveniently located in the town centre, and all the town facilities are within a short walking distance of the complex. This provides your passengers with the freedom to explore Coober Pedy at their leisure. All our accommodation is underground, with convenient access for the coach. All our bunkhouses have hot and cold water, sinks, sheltered and shaded cooking areas with B.B.Q.
